Boisterous winds were agam experienced in this, district on Sunday, but rain fell early on Monday morning. Tho majority of the hay orops have now been safely harvested. _ .„ ' Since the official opening of the People's Park on Boxing Day, there have been quite a number of picnics and small sports gatherings held pri; the ground. As a good supply of water and facilities for boiling it are installed on the ground, the park makes an ideal picnio resort. The Friendly '[societies and Fire Brigade held their annual picnic in the park on Anniversary Day.'
