WEEK-END MATCHES. So many members of tho Highland Eifle Club were attending the Palmerston North championship meeting that the club postponed its usual competition, and indulged in shooting at 900 and 1000 yarde. Next Saturday the competition will be for trophies donated by Messrs. Keid and Fenwick and Mr. 3. Macturan. Tho ranges will be 800 and 800 yards. Shearer, 272. . DEFENCE STAFF CLUB. The Defence Staff Club held tho third match of the second series over ranges 800 and 600 yards, the winner being Mr. H Stephens, who takes Messrs. The To Runi Yacht Club held their races on Saturday (postponed from Anniversary Day). Tho course was from Clyde Quay Wharf to Jcrningham buoy, thenco to Ngahatiranga, then back to the starting line.
