. OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT . Amsterdam, January 21. 'An. official message from Berlin states that General von Falkenhayn has resigned his portfolio of Minister of War. Major-Genoral Wild von Hoherborn (a Departmental Director of the ,War Oftce) has succeeded him. General von Falkenhayn was appoint ed'Prussian Minister of War in July, 1913, having previously held the position of Chief of the General Staff of the 4th Army Corps. at Magdoburg. General von Falkenhayn took part hi the Chinese- campaign on the staff of Count Waldersee, and remained m China on the General Staff of the Brigade of Occupation. He was for many years Chief of the General Staff of the 16tli Army Corps- at Metz.
