YACHTING MISHAP.

CRASH INTO CLYDE QUAY' WHAEFj The orew of the yacht Isca had a try-i ing and exoiting experience in the harbour yesterday afternoon. Yachtsmen! and spectators were assembled at Olya Quay_ Wharf and at the boat harbourv to -witness the club races which were to have been held. The Isca sailed out' of the boat harbour at about 2.80 p.m.,and in the gale failed to clear Clyde Quayj Wharf. She crashed into the struc-' turo rather heavily, and for.a time it seemed that she might be smashed about, for the water-was rough. There was a rush to the scene, ropes were flung to the toßsing craft, and she was got clear after a while. Still, she* was only barely clear, and there remained the work of getting her back to the. boat harbour. Several craft made un-,. succssful attempts to go to the rescue,' but at length the Ruihi, -who had got) 1 " away from her anchorage very smartly,, took tho Isca iri tew, and hauled her safely hack to the calm waters of the yachts'. quarters. While oruising about the Isca, the R\iihi experienced difficulty in getting a line aboard the damaged yacht. This trouble was overcome by Mr. Highet, who paddled out in a dinghy, and, notr, withstanding the bad conditions, kot ai line to the Isca and then to the Ruihi. i Mr. Highet's splendid- handling of hiai tiny shell was greatly admired by the; orowd whioh gathered on the ' -wharf. Tho orowd, by the way, included a small army of amateur photographers, who r hastened forth from all quarters at the first news of trouble.

The extent of the Isca's misfortune,' is damage to its bowspit, bumpkin, and[ mizzen Doom. Some of the crew werej hioky to escape being orushod against.; the wharf when the first crash ocourred*.'
