SWIMMING WELLINGTON CENTRE MEETING. KAHANAMOKU'S VISIT. Mr. G. S. Hill presided at a meeting of the Wellington Centre, New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, hold last evening to confirm tho business transacted at the annual general meeting which liad been declared informal. After considerable dela> had been oaused on account of a quorum not being present, the chairman addressed the meeting, and Baid that the rules had been altered so that instead of two delegates attending meetings only one should be present. When this wbb done the rule governing the question of a quorum had not been altered, and now the position was that authough tho number o$ delegates had been decreased by half, the same number 1 had to. constitute a quorum, viz., ten. He thought that the meeting should go on with the business, and have it confirmed at a future meeting. If the delegates present were unanimous they could carry anything, despite the fact _ that another section of delegate.! might voto against the business being oonfirmed. Subsequently Mr. T. Snields moved that the delegates present proceed' with the business of the meeting, and reduce the number to form a quorum to seven. Mr.' F. Wilton disagreed with the motion, and said that the proceedings would be unconstitutional. He moved an amendment to tho effeot that the business be proceeded with in the ordinary way. and that the proceedings be confirmed at a subsequent full meeting of delegates. Mr. A. H. Stevenson seconded the motion, and after Mr. T., Shields had withdrawn his motion, Mr. Wilton's amendment became the motion and was carried.
