When tho hearing,of tho wheat soizuro caso was resumed before the Inter.Stato Commission to-day the jurisdiction of tlio Commission was challenged on behalf of tho Now South Walos Government, the contention being that it had no judicial power and was intended by Parliament to bo a commission only on behalf of tho Fanners' and Settlers' Association. It was stated that tho association desired merely to secure a decision on a question of law. Tho case was adjourned. FOOD PRICES IN ENGLAND AGITATION BY LABOUR PARTY. (Rec. January 19, 0.5 a.m.) London, January 18. The newspapers are giving prominence tc the rise in the prices. of food.
