Catherine Begg, who was found homeless apd drunk in tho Basin Reserve on Friday night) having the sum of one penny in her pocket, wa, charged witn drunkenness and being an idle and disorderly person in that she bad lnsum-' cient lawful means of support. According to Inspector Hendrey, accused's sole .trouble was drink. Acoused admitted that she had "had a drop of drink," and the Magistrate replied that the drop appeared to have lasted some few days. , Eventually the "ase was adjourned till to-day/ so that evidence might ba ■called which would lead to a solution as to what to do with accused. ■ A' FINAL WARNING, Geore Francis pleaded for another chance, and asked to be allowed to get away to the arantry, on a charge of being a rogue and a vagabond in that he was found by night in the City Cor. poration's yard, Wakefield Street. Ihe Magistrate eventually agreed to accused's requests, and ordered lum to come up for sentence wflen called upon. "And mind you clear away to, the country, Francis. Five first offenders were convicted and discharged.
