RIFLE-SHOOTING
■ The Petone Rifle Club will shoot the first match in the second series to-day at Waiwetu; ranges, 300 and 500' yards, ten shots at each. At the monthly shoot of the Hutt Valley Gun Club two events of 21 and 15 clay-birds were held. The former lvas in .competition for a trophy presented by Mr. Gadsby, and resulted in a tio, between Messrs. S. Edwards (17yds.) and E. Flux (10yds.), with 17 breaks each, the latter securing a leg-in in the shoot-off. The second event was for a, trophy presented by Mr. G. W, Williams, and was won by W. Kilmister off Byds. with 14 breaks. S. Edwards: (17yds.) and E. Flux (11yds.) were in second place with 13 breaks each.
