MESSAGE TO THE GOVERNOR His Ekcellenoy the Governor has received the Mowing telegram, dated London, January 11, 12.30 p.m., from the Secretory of State for the Colonies: January 11.—"The French Government reports advances of, some importance, including the capture of the village of Perthes. The Germans, after being driven from the trenches and losing a hill near Soissons. twice bombarded the town, setting the Law Courts on fire. "The Russians report minor successes in Poland and Galicia."HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. London, January 11, 7.20 p.m. Paris reports:. "In the region of Laboisselle German trenches were seized. North-east of Soissons the Allies ropulsed an attack, carrying two lines of trenches and ensuring complete possession of a spur. North of Perthes thoy repulsed counter-attacks and captured two hundred yards of trenches. North of Beansejour tho enemy's stubborn attempts to regain lost positions were repulsed, the enemy being severely punished."
