SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. ! The half-yearly meeting of the Wellington branch of the Social Democratic Party was held last night, Mr. W. Maddison presiding over a large attendance. The election committee presented its complete report in connection with the contesting of the Wellington North electorate. The support financially arid otherwise given to Mr. Holland's candidature was considered highly satisfactory. It was agreed to render material assistance to the Dunedin Labour Representation Committee in the event of a by-election in Dunedin Central. Reports of the branch's activities were received, and revealed increasing results; Tho following officers were elected for the ensuing half-year: —President, Mr. J. Read; vice-presi-dent, Mr. G. Ward; secretary-treasurer, Mr. G. L. Rae; assistant-secretary, Mr. T. Brindle; executive committee, Mrs. Aitken, Messrs. T. Richards, C. H. Chapman, S. Gordon, and H. E. Holland.
