Sir,—The present i 6 not a time for private opinions, but it is impossible to pass dumbly the danger of such senseless, yet specious ; arguments as those quoted by you this morning aa from an American trade expert, viz., William Archer, in the "Daily News. ■ The war is quite as much America's' concern and responsibility as it is Britain's, and its duration depends not on. Amenoa'6 or Britain's mandate, but on the principle of contraband being expanded to the limits of utility—notcontracted to suit the requirements ol American greed.—l am, ete., HENRY BODLEY.
