SATURDAY'S RAINFALL
A WELCOME SOAKING. The fine downfall of worm, gentle ram which occurred _on Saturday . and early yesterday morning will be greatly appreciated throughout the district. The conditions during the past month have been exceedingly dry, and the ground had become powdery dry to the detriment of gardens and orchards. The rain which fell was just the kihr that would be beneficial. The news that the rainfall extended to the Wairarapa distriot, which has been experienc. ing drought conditions, is very welcome.
