• Arrangements are being made for the S™ zin K of Wairarapa stock in -the Forty Alile Bush, where there is reported to be an abundance of feed. 1. ij ll riflo meeting is to be held at Greytown on Saturday, at which Maatertcn will bo strongly represented. A summer camp, under the auspices of the Y.M.C.A., is to be Tield near Masterton. Over 16,000 sheep, besides cattle, are ] being put through the Waingawa FreezU1 x Y? week. So far the output this season has been much in excess of that of last season. The cattle .slaughtered already exceed in numbers wl f 1 put through last season. The'scarcity of water is being severely felt m' some parts of this district, and is having a bad effect upon stock. The Whareama River has ceased to flow, and many streams have completely dried up. There ha<s been 110 ram, to speak of, since the month of June. • The championship fixtures in connection with Mastorton Saturday cricket ar ® ™ continued on Saturday week. Between forty and fifty butchers are at present employed at the Waingawa l'reczing Works. The canvassing committee in connecnon with the Mastorton A. and P. Association aro busy, and aro reported to bo meeting with a satisfactory response. .
