GERMAN OUTRAGES
PRIEST BAYONETED Paris, January 6. The Belgian Legation has issued a list of German outrages in Belgium. Many religious establishments have been destroyed. The parish priest-lit Spontin was suspended by the hands and feet and bayoneted and shot. An octogenarian priest at Berchem ."(thirty miles north-east of Lillo) was tortured. SOME SAMPLES. SEEN BT AN AUSTRALIAN; Sydney, Jamuary 7. Mr. Charles Brooks, who recently returned from England, expresses surprise at the scepticism of Australians over the German atrocities. He sajjs that when in England he saw with his own eyes Belgian •girls with both hands chopped off, hundreds of men. women, and children'with the right forefinger hacked off, and hundreds of men and boys mutilated in 6uch manner that details are scarcely printable. ■
