Moore (Ruy Lopez).—Kelling won a. pawn in wo early;stages, and Moore resigned at move 38. Dodds v. 0. E. Fox(Giuoco Piano).—Fox gained a rook for a knight in the middle game, and won on the-50th move. G. Fox v. Buckett —Bubkefct scored by* default. Barnos v. Severne (Ruy \ Lopez).— Barnes is a pawn to the good; adjourned. Hill v. Pleasants (Double Ruy Lopez) and Grierson v. Hicks (French Defence) are also adjourned. Eleventh round: Barnes v. Mara (Queen's Gambit Declined).—Adjourned y Barnes is a pawn to the good, and has a knight against'a bishop. Severne y. Hill (Four Knights Game).—Adjourned ; an even game. . Kelling v. Pleasants (Queen's Gambit Declined). —Ploasants lost a pawn in the opening, but gained some attack. Later on, however, he lost queen for a rook and knight, and resigned at move 27. Moore v. Grierson (Ruy Lopez).—Moore had a strong attack, but did not make the most of it, and Grierson, getting the upper hand, won on the 64th move. Hicks v. Buckett (French Defence). — An even game all through; drawn on the 39th move. B. G. Fox v. Dodds. —Dodds scored by default. . 0. E. Fox, a bye. Three unfinished games were got off in the afternoon, Barnes winning from Grierson (round 3), Kelling from Buckett (round 6), and in Hill v.
