HON. A. FISHER'S VISIT

CIVIC RECEPTION AND SOCIAL' • WELCOME. , The Labour organisations of Wellington are arranging to welcome the Right' 1 Hon. Andrew Fisher, Federal Prima Minister, at a Bocial-in tbe Town Ha-U at 8 o'clock to-morrow evening., Ther« will'.be only two speeches apart front what Mr. Fisher may say. . Mr. , J. Jl'Kenzie, of Trades and Labour Council, will preside, and he will deliver a speech of welcome to the "guest. The other, local speaker will be r Mr. John Rigg, who has been asked to present the address which is to be handed to Mr. Fisher. On his arrivel at Pal. merston North, on his way through, Mr. Fisher will he met by Messrs. W, A. Veitch, M.P.i , A. H. Hindmarsh, M.P., and Mr. John, Rigg., « will; travel to Wellington with. him. I Mr, Fisher left Rotorua for Weljiijg-'. ton yesterday, via the Wanganui River. He was at Taumarunui' yesterday evening.' Mri Fisher will leave the river at Pipiriki, and will arrive in Wellington at about 7 o'clock to-morrow evening. He is expected, to leave Wellington'for the South Island on January lit on a visit to the chiefbeauty spots, and will return to Wellington on January 28 before ho leaves for Australia. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), is on. deavouring to arrange to extend a civioreception to Mr. Fisher in the Munioi-; pal Concert Chamber at 7.30 to-morrow evening. ■ ' -- r ■ •
