SOME ISOLATED ENCOUNTERS RETREATING AUSTRIANS CUT UP BY CAVALRY Potrograd, January 5._ Communique.—Artillery and rifle fire continue on the left bank of the Vistula. There have been isolated encounters near Bolimoff. The position in Galicia is unchanged. Our cavalry fell on the rear of the retreating Austrians making their way over the mountain paths in deep snow in the Uzok Pass. "We made prisoners of 10 officers and 450 men. ■ AUSTRIA'S LAST LINE OF RESERVE CALLED UP. London, January 6. Berne (Switzerland) reports that considerable significance is attached to Austrian proclamations calling out the last line of reservists. Medical examination is to be waived.
