'A NEW DRESS REGULATION. (By aWeeraph.—Press Association.) • Auckland, January 5. , The authorities have come to a moßt Interesting decision with regard fo the equipment of the Maori eoldiers at present in training at Avondale camp. It has been decided to put the Maoris in "shorts" and putties to rcplncotho long trousers which at present form tho nether half of their uniform. Tho short pants will be of a pattern that has become familiar in tho now well-known \uiiform of tho senior cadets. The Maori in wide, well-cut shorts, putties, and bare knees and a drill tunic (to be discarded at the slightest provocation) should be in a comfortable garb that will enable bira to appear and to work a> We best.
