HUTT AND PETONE NEWS
At the Lower Hutt Court, during the quarter ended December '31, 49 plaints were entered, and three distress warrants, and five judgment summonses issued. The number of summonses served - was 74, seven warrants were executed, and 26 persons' were summoned or apprehended, 20 being summarily convicted and six discharged. Ten persons were fined, and one sent to gaol, whilst nine were convicted and discharged. Civil, fees-amounted to £21-Bs., and fines to £31 19s.
During the year 1914 the Petone Ambulance van was used on 53 occasions. Most of tlie journeys were to Wellington Hospital, 37 were from Petone, 13 from Lower Hutt, and three from Koro-Koro. At'a .moating of tho teaching staff of St.' James's Sunday ' School, Lower Hutt, held last-evening, arrangements wore made in connection with the annual picnic which is to be held on Anniversary Day at the Hutt Park.
