Alexander Terras Bell, of the Now Zealand Medical Staff Corpß, died on December 29 from hemorrhage of the brain. Dr. Terras Bell; who was about -iortMOur vears of age, was the only, son of the kte Mr. Jv T. Bell, of .Chnstclmrch. and was educated at a private school in that city. Afterwards he attended the courses at the Dunedin Medical School for two . years, and then completed his studies at Edinburgh University. , He returned;»to rChristohurch, end Was engaged in gefteral practice for a year. • He then decided to take .ilp the study of diseases of .the 'eye, _ear, nose, and 'throat,, and with that objoct in view visited London; Edinburgh, and Vienna. Ho returned: to Clmstchurch about sis years ago, and had been m practice as a specialist mco then. iWhen war broke out Dr. Terras Bell waß one of the firstmedical men to volunteer, and he left New Zealand in the Maungaiiui with the Main Expeditionary Force.
