Peroy Williams was charged with unlawfully assaulting Edward Ryan, _ a barman, and was 'fined £2, with witnesses' expenses 45., in default seven days' imprisonment, for the same. Bartholomew Mahoney was fined £1, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness, and £2, in default sevon days' imprisonment, for assaulting Constable Petty in the execution of his duty. Alexandor Francis M'Lean was fined 10s.; in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment for using, threatening behaviour, and fined £2, or seven days' imprisonment, for using obscene language. Henry Callaghan was remanded io January 9 on a charge of b'oiug found helplessly drunk. For drunkenness, Alexander Mair, Jolm Richard Wallaco, Patrick Kaine, mid Peter Mikkolsen were each fined 10s., in dofault forty-eight hours' imprisonment, and John M'Carthy was fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Ten members of the community who celebrated the advent of the Now Year by getting drunk were dealt with as statutory first offenders.
