SERIOUS MOTOR ACCIDENT
0 WELLINGTONHNS BADLY IN- X JURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association) Carterton, January 1. 'A serious motor accident occurred between Featlierston and tho Tauheronikau racecourse to-day A now Buick rar was pbing for hue, and its occupants, Michael D Bany, Wellington, and Kitty Payton, Island Bay, Wellington, were badly injured, and Tliomas Hill was badly shaken. The car was smashed to pieces. It appears that a motor-lorry, which was going to Featherston, and tho car, which was going to the races, met on a bad part of tho road, Both triod to take tho good part of the road. When the accident occurred, the motor-car is alleged to have been on the wrong side. Tho injured people woro taken back to Wellington by tho afternoon train.
