WAIRARAPA MEETING. (By Telegraph;— Special Correspondent.) Masterton, January 1. Tho Wairarapa Caledonian Society held, the annual sports gathering on tne Park Oval to-day in ideal weather. There was art attendance of soveral thousand persons, visitors being piesent from all parts of tho district. In tho amateur events, tho 100 yds Flat was won by E B Reading, the 440vds by C Laroche, and the 220 yds by W. Gunmell In the professional division the Caledonian Society Handicap was won by E. P. Donnolly, who also annoied the 220jds event J. M'Ca-in won the 100 yds. and the 440 yds. eventß P M'Kechnie, and T Jaffray were .most.successful ui the dancing events, while the Wellington Ambulance Corps won the ambulance competition 1
