CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING AT NEW YEAR.' , Entries - are coming in freely for all events, and it is estimated that with the groups and the district programmes, some 300. competitors will be on the,, ground. Major H. Marshall is chairman of. the/Management . Major J. P. Halpin will.be chief range officer for the' district championship events, Mr; W. Cowan, secretary of the ICarori Rifle Club being in charge ,pf the trench. "Assistant range officers will be Lieutenants Cotter and Baker, Riflemen W.M. Jackson, and. A. Guise. A' squad of Senior Cadets 'will, assist with. the telephone work and other details. Rifleman W. G. Follinghara (Suburbs Club) is the secretary. Lieutenant D. A.. Kenny is chief- rango officer for the "Group" section of the programme, and will be assisted by Lieutenants Millar, Rankin, and several other Lieutenant M'Morran is. the, secretary'for the Group Section. . It' has been arranged that in the special train leaving Lambtpn Station on January 1, Territorials and Cadets will ocoupy the front half of the train, the Riile Club members taking the'rear section. This is riccessary to .'make certain arrangements on, the Way out to the range. A further donation has" been received from LieutenantColonel Brandon. The committee have made arrangements for refreshments to be obtained on the ground at moderate prices. . ■- '■ .
