CUXHAVEN RAID
BRITAIN'S ANSWER' . PRESS OPINIONS ; London, December 29. The newspapers exultantly refer to the Cuxhaven raid. The "Daily Telegraph" says:—"This was no lightning knock at an undefended door, followed by a rapid flight to safety, but a hostile visit of three hours' duration while Britain's pilots flew over the, roadstead] where a- number of warships were congregated.'^ The "Daily Chronicle"-. : declares: — '.'The incident suggests that the German Navy has either taken the former battle off Heligoland to heart, or else it is so doubly or trebly locked behind its booms and dock gates that it'cannot come out within any reasonable time." The "Daily News" says:—"This is Britain's answer, in characteristic style, to the bombardment of the Yorkshire boast. Admiral von Tirpitz may .have to change his tactics." Tho "Daily Chronicle's" naval expert says :—" Already .the much-discussed German submarino is deprived of half its terrors." . • ' MOST BRILLIANT. AND MOST DARING. London, December 29l The 'Kew York "Tribune" says the Cuxhaven raid was most brilliant and most daring, and puts the Hartlepool raid in the shade. It was also free of the stigma of a brutal assault on combatants. .'''- GERMAN BATTLE-FLEET. PRINCE HENRY IN SUPREME COM- . MAND. (Recr December 30, 9.25 p.m.) Amsterdam,, December 80.
