THE ZEPPELIN HOPE
NONSENSE AND BLUFF \ London, December 27. '& correspondent tvlio has returned from Germany says the Germans plaoe their hope in their air fleet. They rely on the Zeppelins to cause panic and the destruction of English sailors, soldiers, and civilians. This, however, is more or leas nonsense and bluff. _ If a Zeppelin wishes to escape anti-aircraft guns it will have to fly at such a height that a warship would appear like a star in the heavens. The damage possible by Zeppelins would therefore probably be small, and largely a matter of good luck. . ,' . Thore is, adds the correspondent; a growing . feeling against keeping the German fleet in strongly-fortified harbours, and he gives this as a reason for the recent raid on the East Coast of England.—"Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.
