Ashburton, December 26. The Ashburton Trotting Club's Boxing, Day Sleeting was favoured by brilliantly sunny weather, and attracted a record attendance. The track was in first-class order. Tho totalisator receipts amounted to 10s. as against £11,938 10s. for tho corresponding day last year. Results: TEIAL HANDICAP, of 100 sots. One mile and a ■ half .—Lucille, 18sec, 1; Sealion, 14scc, 2; Icicle, 105ec.,"3. Scratched: Wairongoa and Eothannic. Won by three lengths, with ten longths between second and third. Time, 3min. 51 2-Ssec. MITCHAM HANDICAP, of 100 sovs. One mile and a half.— Vera Wood, 15sec, 1; Chub, 175e0., 2; Rudeton, 165e0., 8. Scratched: Bowb'elk Won by naif a length, with Rudston six lengths behind. Timo, 3min. 43sec. ASHBURTON TROTTING CUP HANDICAP, of 400 boys. Two miles.—St. Kovin, 12scc., 1; Quincey.Ssec., 2; Mnricata, Bsec, 3. All started. Won easily by two lengths. A' magnificent etruggle took place in the straight for second honours, and Quincey' gained them by' two lengths. Time, 4min. 4fi l-ssec.
