'Special programmes will also be given at several of the picture theatres. On Boxing Day thoso who enjoy racing may tako their choice of the meetings to be held at Carterton and Palmerston North. Lovers of cricket will doubtless attend at the Basin Reserve, whore Marlborough will play Wellington's second best team. Its best goes to Auckland. There will be a tennis tourney at Day's Bay, club bowling tourney on all tho greens, baseball and shooting (at Trentham). There will bo a cheap all-day excursion to Picton, and to those who do not care to travel so far thoro will bo harbour excursions and the Catholic picnic at Seatoun.
