Colonel Wolridge. Gordon, Commandant of the Depot, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Stirling Castle, has received a letter from an officer attached to the staff of Sir Jolm French, stating that the Commander-in-Chief personally complimented the 2nd Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (tho old 93rd) oil their performance ia the Battle of Le Cateau. This has been engrossed in the depot orders.
