Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 p.m. on the previous evening, and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close on Christmas Day as follows;— For the Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., and for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The City ajid suburbs receivers will not be oleajed during the day, but the midnight clearances will bn made as usual.

On Thursday, December 24, in extra clearance will be made from the city and suburban receivers as follows:— I To Aro, Wellington South, and Thorndon, at 5 p.m.; Hatatai, Kilbirnie, Miramax. Seatoun, IBland Bay, Vogeltown, Brooklyn, Kclburn, Northland, and Wadestown. at 4 p.m. There will not bo any deliveries by letter-carriers on Christmas Day, but on Thursday, December 24, tho Carriers' Department (entrance upstairs from Feathcrston Street) will be open for the delivery of correspondence addressed to Btreets in the city and suburbs from 8 to 9 p.m.; also tho public counter for tho delivery of correspondence addressed to the Post Office will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. The parcels delivery counter will open from 8 to 9 p.m. On Saturday. December 26 (Boxing Di.y) the Chief Post Office will be open in all ita branohes (except Money-order and Bav. ings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispttch by steamers will close at 8 a.m.. ejid the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close as follows:—For Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei.
