Mails for dispatch by steamers will closo at 8 p.m. on the 'previous evening, and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close on Ohrletmas Day as follows:—For the Wairarapa, Hawko's Bay. Jlanawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., and for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The City and suburbs receivers will not be cleared .during the day, but tho midnight clearances will bo mode as usual. On Thursday, December 24, an extra clearance will bo made from tho city and suburban receivers ■as • follows:—To Aro; Wellington' South, and Thonidon, at '5' p.m.; Hatatai, Kilbirnio, Miramar, Scatoun, ■ Island Bay, Vogcltown, Brooklyn, Kclburn, Northland, and Wadostown, at 4 p.m'. There will not bo any deliveries by. letter-earners on Christmas Day, but on Thursday, December 24, the Carriers' Department (entrance upstairs from Featherston Street) will bo open for tho delivery of correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs-from 8 t0.9 p.m.; also tho public counter for tho delivery of correspondence addressed to the Post Office will be open from 8 to 9 p.m; The parcels delivery counter will opeh from 8 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, December 26 (Boxing Df,y) the Chief Post Office will bo open in al] its branches (except Money-order and Sav. ings Bank) from • 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by steamers will closo at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will closo as follows:—For Wairarapa.
