General in the Sudan, whom the Em 4 poror Franz Josef recently made a Privy; Councillor, has renounced all his Englisnj, appointments and decorations! ■ , " Baron Rudolf Carl Slatin Pasha created a Baron of the Austrian Empire/ in 1906. His English decorations inolud* G.C.V.0.,iK.C.M.G., K.C.V.O:, C.8., C.V.D., and M.V.O. He lias been: Britisli Inspector-General of the Sudan: since 1900 j was an Hon. Major-General in the British Army, and Lieutenant-, General in the Egyptian Army. He left Vienna for the Sudan in 1878, and wasappointed by General Gordon Governor of Parfur.
