APPOMIID.BY GREAT BRITAIN London, December 17.The Government has appointed a cortf-i mittee to inquire regarding German outi rages and breaches of the laws,of war* Viscount Bryco is • chairman, and ths other members of the committee are: Sir Frederick Pollock, Sir Edward Clarke, K.C., Sir Alfred Hopkinson, K.C., Professor Herbert and Mr. Harold Cos, M.A. -> - : } {, • Viscount Bryce, Sir Frederick PoI-«' lock, Sir Edward Clarko,'and Sir Alfred Hopkinson are lawyers. The second-' named was at on© time Professor 08 Jurisprudence at University College, London. He has served on several Royal Commissions, and is the author; of several legal and other works. Sin) Edward Clarke, ex-M.P., and at one; time Solicitor-General, was for years onaj of the leaders of the English Bar. Sin Alfred Hopkinson was for a period M.PJ for Wilts (Crickdalo). From 1900 tc( 1913 ho was Vice-Chancellor of the Vni* versity of Manchester. Mr. Fisher haß, been Vice-Chancellor of the Sheffield 1 University since 1912.
