NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS THE COMPETITORS. Tho New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association's championship events are to he played at Dunedin on tho Carisbrook Cricket Ground during the Christina* and New Year holidays. The draw was made by the Jlanagemont Committee of the association at a meeting held yesterday. Many players are not able to make the trip this year, but the list includes all tho present champions who, with the exception of Miss Steele in tho combined doubles, will defend their titles., Miss Gray is the present ladies' singles champion, and with Miss E. M. Baird holds the ladies' doubles chamr pionship. The singles championship for men is held by Mr. A. G. Wallace, of Taxanaki, and with Mr. O. J. Dickie, aleo of Taranaki, he will defend the title in the men's doubles held by them. Mr. G. Ollivier is partnered with Miss R. Hughee, of Pahiatua, for the combined doubles", and there is work for tho remaining entrants in this event to wreßt the title from him- The arrangements for the meeting are well in hand, and Mr. Petherick leaves for Dunedin on Tuesday to take control of the meeting, which will commence on Wednesday, December 30, and continue until Saturday, January 2.
