Mr. H. Ernest Leighton reports that at Uβ sale at Lower Hutt yesterday there was a. keen demand for good cows. Oows In milk and In full profit sold from £i 10a. to £10 16a. j poor cowe with calves at loot were -hard or sale; store cowe, £2 125.-6 d. to £3 10s:; goou null, £5 12s. 6a.; others, £2 12s. 6d. to £3; horses were slow of sale; good upstanding hack eold for £16; aged harness horsoe, from £5 to £8. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their second sale of the Beason in l'ahautaimi yards on December 16, when they offered a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. The quality of the yarding of sheep was much above tho average, and gome very excellent lines of 1 wethers and ewes were bought under the hammer. ■ A line of three and four-year-old steers on- account of JfessTe. PeaTce Bros, also came forward in flrstrclasj order and condition. In sheep we succeeded, under' animated competition, in disposing of every line under the hammer at satisfactory market rates. The following are some of the best sales effected:—On ac-' count of Messrs. Brady Bros.: 300 goodconditioned four and six-tooth wethers, 19s.
