SUPPLIES TO ARRIVE. . Three ships frill aurive at New Zea-land-ports shortly with cargoes of wheat purchased in. Canada'; to the order of tho New' Zealand .Government to make good the threatened shortage of breadstuffs in this Dominion. The Waiiomata, which left Vancouver on Sunday last, brings 12,000 iJushels. This-wheat, should be- in Wellington in the middle of January. The Niagara, which leaves Vancouver next Wednes-day^.-will carry 10,000 bushels. She is due..m. Auckland, on January 11. Statements still seem to be made that there are large quantities of wheat :held by certain firms in New eZaland. In reference to this matter - the Prime Minister stated .that: the - recent wheat census_ disclosed the fact that at :tbe beginning/of the present month; farmers in New Zealand held 96,000 bushels, and merchants 183,000 bushels, being height per cent.-and eleven per cent'. : respectively or the total stocks.
