Cycling on the footpaths at Petone has become somewhat common recently, particularly along tho Esplanade, where several slight accidents arising from this habit are reported. Yesterday a girl four years of age was knocked down and injured, and tne authorities intend to deal severely in future with offenders. It would be well if cyclists remembered that a rough or newly metalled road offers no excuse for riding along footpaths.
