HARMONIC SOCIETY
SUCCESSFUL CONCERT AT BROOKLYN. . ; A large audience greeted the appearanoe -or the ' Wellington : • Harmonic Society in the Brooklyn Maeonip Hall last evening. The programme evidently appealed to the taste of those present, judging by the hearty encores demanded. The society has made marked progress under the conductorship of Mr. H. Temple White, who obtained from his compact body of 30 voices some really remarkable results. All the part songs were rendered unaccompanied, and the interpretation of these and theohoruses displayed musioianly intelligence, the tho delicacy of expression being quite delightful. The soloists of the evening were Misses B. -A; Brittain, Eva Smith, and Freda Walter' and Messrs.. C. plarkson and K. E. Shorney. Their items were well chosen and excellently rendered. The accompaniments were played by Miss D. Jonnstone and. Mr. H. Temple White. It is to bo hoped that this society may, in the near future, be induced to appear in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall.
