Mr. G. B. Bullock, manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, was a member of the Otago Harbour Board for nine years .prior, to 'life: transfer to Wellington. -During'that period ne successfully contested two elections as member for Dunedin-and St. Kilda, and also two elections as representing Payers of Dues on Ships, and was at various times chairman ;of committees, deputy-chairman of the board, and representative of the board on the Otago Dock Trust. His fellow members of the board , ', were' unable to make him a presentation before his departure from Dunedhij and at their' request the chairman of Wellington Board (Mr. R. Fletcher), last .night handed Sir. Bullock an illuminated address, and mentioned that a rose bowl was to follow. In'making the presentation,. Mr. Fletcher' mentioned that the chairman of the Otago Board (Mr. H. Moeller) had desired to be in attendance, but was 'prevented on account of the board meeting in Dunedin to-night. Mr. Bullock, in the course of hio reply, made public acknowledgment of the assistance rendered by- the Wellington Harbour Board on the occasion of the recent mishap to the'Ruahine. • The design of Mr. Herbert A. Jones, of Masterton, has been accepted for the erection of the new municipal buildings in Masterton (says our Masterton correspondent) There were nineteen designs in all.. . Shortly before 2 o'clock this morning a woman named Kathleen Von Kent was admitted to the Public Hospital suffering from severe cuts ou the arm and wrist. Von Kent received her injuries through putting her fist .through i.a window in Holland Street. ■
