The. news of Admiral bturdeirs. victory had an excellent effeot. The prices of some commodities, which were high, are being controlled. Wild rumours are still.circulating in the bazaars, ranging from a report that King George had been captured by a Zeppolin, to another that he was hiding m a fort in Bombay, disguised as an Indian;.or that the Kaiser had appointed German judges to .sit with the English on the Indian Bench. Every effort is being made to reassure the'credulous both in the British-Indian and native States.
