DIFFICULTIES OF COAL SUPPLY. ■' ' The Constantinople correspondent of the "Near East" states:— "The available coal supply is estimated'at most 15,000 tons of steam coal, and the 150 tons per diem of Eregli coal, which is being mined under difficulties, the majority of the labourers employed there having been conscripted. Whetner it will be possible to keep up even this supply as .long as gold is tight and labour' scarce is doubted in some quarters. Inany case the operations of tho Ottoman fleet, should it undertake any, are likely to be seriously hampered for want of. coal. The Goeben, German' officers and all, cannot do more than 15 knots oh Eregli coal, and the Breslau's. speed will bo reduced' by 50 per cent. _it she is compelled to fall baok on this source of supply, while Germany' and Austria cannot send; any large quantities of steam coal here by rail."
