KARORI DEFENCE OLUB. '■ At Trentham on Saturday afternoon the Karori Club fired the first match in its championship series over ranges 300 and 500 yards, for trophies donated by -Judge'Rawson, Messrs. L. Blundell, J. i. '-■ OLD NAVALS CLUB. ■The Old Navals Rifle Club fired a practice -match at Trentham. ' The conditions were: Seven shots and sighterat each of 800 and 800 yards. The' long range was new to most of the members, and in the changeable wind high scoring was dim-' cult. : At .800 yards M. Hugo topped the score with 28, but fell away to only 10 points at 900 yards. i SUBURBS CLUB. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club continued their shooting at Mirnmar on Saturday. The weather conditions were again unfavourable for shooting, many members were absent, owing to the continued stormy conditions; which have had to be contended with since the shooting season opened. The best shoot on Saturday was by C. Stewart, 86 off the rifle in B class; P. Morris, in C class, third, with 82. The top score in A class was by W. Slaughter, 83. • The final shoot in the first series will be concluded on Wednesday,' at ranges 600 and 600 yards. , In all. probability members wishing long-range shooting practice, in view of the -Wellington Rifle Association meeting, *ill ■ visit Trentham next Saturday. ■ The winners of the lamb, presented by Mr. A.
