LIVE STOCK SALES. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Fcildina sale, held December 11:—We had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold at late rates. Wo quote:—Two-tooth ewes, 15s. 9d.; 2-tooth wethers, 16s. Bd.: mixed 2-tooths, 10s., 12s. IDd. to 13s. 7d.; forward ewee, 155.; fat ewes, light, 17s. 9d. Cattle: Fat cows, best. £10 55.: others, £5 4s. cd. to £6 17s. fid.: cows, in milk, £4 155.; empty cows, £3 95.; cows and calves, £5; yearling bulls. 305.; heavy bulls, £10. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., report:—At 'Feilding on Friday we had a good yarding of sheep, but onlv a few lines of cattle came forward. Bidding was brisk, and almost everything sola at auction. We auotc:Sheep: Cull ewes and lambs (a'l counted), ss'. 3d.; cull ewes and wethers. 12s. Id.: forward ewes, 15s. 6(1.; 4 and 6-tnoth and f.m. ewes, 15s. lid.; 4-tooth wethers, 18s. 6d. Cattle: Yearling heifers. £2 45.; sprine:ine heifers. £7 15e.; 3-year heifers (Rood). £5 Is.; fat heifers, £6 fa.: fat cows, £5 Is.. £6 to £7 Is.; stass. £4 155.; 2-ycar bulls, £3 lis.Tho N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd.. report:—During the. week we held sales in the Makotuku and Dannevirko saleyards, on Wednesday and Friday respectively. Makotuku sale: At this sale thero was a fair yarding of sheen and cattle offering. Sheen sold very well, but cattle were a little easier on late rates. Wo quote:—Two-tooth wethers, 13s. 7d.; fat ewes, 19s. 3d.: fat wethers, 21s. 4d. At tho Danncvirke salo thero was a very largo yarding of both sheep and cattle offering. Owinc no doubt, to tho continual dry weather, all classes, except "fat" stock, were somewhat easier. Pigs were especially hard to dispose of. We quote:—Mixed 2-tooths. 12s. 5d.: bull hoggets, 9s.:'ewes and lambs. 17s. 5d.; fat ewes, 175.; empty heifers. £3 18s. 64.; Jersey bull (15 months); £1: porkers. £1 Ib.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Waikanae on Tuesday we had a small entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. The whole of our entry was sold at satisfactory prices: -Sheep: Light fat cweu and wethers, mixed, 20s. Cattle: 25, 3-year steers, £6 to £7; 18-month do., £4 Is.; yearling Jersey do.. £1 18s. 6d.; yearlinc heifers, £2 ss. to £2 10s.; yearling Jersey bull, £2 175.; store cows, £4 Is. to £4 12s. 6d.; vealors, small, IBs.: dairy cows, in milk, £5 7s. 6d.; springers, to £8; store pies, 225. Cd. At our Levin sale we offered a fair yarding of cattle, and have to report a fair clearance at the following rates:—Fat cows, £7 10s.; forward do., £5 65.; cows, with calves, £4 195.; 18-month steers, £3 175.; yearling do., £3 25.: yearling heifers, £2 155.; ,2-yoar. Jersey bulls, £3 15s.
