HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. • At His Majesty's Theatre the concert company "The Magpies" still, contniue to delight large audiences. Amongst the other artists appearing now _is the popular Australian, Mi6s Carrie Moore, who has delighted Wellington audiences on more than one occasion. Chas. Bartholomew, "the Dublin Dandy," is another attraction, while other good turns are presented bv Hernan and Shirley, .Brown and Sorlie, and Ywasy. l The programme l will bo repeated this evening. . KING'S~THEATRE. • This ovoning .will be souvenir night fit the Jung's. Theatre, and every patron present will be presented with an etching, lOin. by 12m.. of "Merry Mary Pickford," the highly' popular, cinema actress, who has so often delighted picture audiences.' In. addition, the 6000 ft... drama, ■ "Home, Sweet Home," which is making a great impression, will be 'again' shown, as well as a good supporting programme.

EVERYBODY'S PICTURES. The pictures at Everybody's Theatre this week are of more than usual inter-: est, including as they do many topicai subjects oil the war. A series of views of the allied navies, entitled "Our First Line of Defence," is particularly important, while excellent views are shown iu "The Evacuation of Oqtend and Ghent. "From the Land of Shadows" is a drama of the highest excellence; while 'the remaining films are all up to the usual , standard. PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. The present film of Lucille Love, the girl of mystery, is said to be the best of the series. Taking advantage of Loubeque's quarrel with Thompson, Lucille picks up tho priceless documents from the floor, where they fell during, the scuffle. She runs out of the hacienda, jumps into Loubeque's machine, and bogins a wild dash towards the' American frontier.' Knowing.'what his" fate will be if the spy overtakes him, Lucille's chauffeur loses his head, while driving the machine over a dugway. The automobile swerves and topples from the edge of the cliff into the terrible abyss. When slio regains consciousness she finds herself in bed, with Loubeque caring for her. The papers are gone. Unasked, she agrees to give up the fight and return to San Francisco. In her heart she has begun to admire Loubeque, and although he dare not admit it to himself, Loubeque has a feeling for Lucillo which i: far greater than a passing admiration 1 . And then follows a series of interesting'situations, which are full of excitement for the audience. The large crorcd which attended this popular picture house expressed great satisfaction with the efforts made by :the management to post the election returns. ' EMPRESS THEATRE. At the Empress Theatre yesterday a change programme was presented, the star film being "King of the Seven Dials.". This is a drama of : great froce, telling how two subjects of' 1 the underworld., seek the love of a flower girl. After many exciting events, Bill, one of the memberi of the gang, marries Mary, .the heroine, and the two leave for Australia, to start a new' life. It is a story of much human: interest. Among the suppotring films is one, "Topical War Budget," which gives the latest and best views from the front.
