.The annual breaking-up ceremony and. J distribution of certificates in connection with St. Patrick's College took place 1 in the Btudy liall at the College last ( niglit. A largo number of visiting and J resident clergy were present, while the i hall was crowded with tho relations I and friends of the pupils and old boys, i His Grace Archbishop O'Shea distribut- I cd the certificates. The Eeotor of the I College, the Rev. Dr. Kennedy, ad- f dressed those preient and reviewed the ( work of the year. 1 The College orchestra contrib :uted en- j jdyable musical selections throughout ' the evening, notably "The Bohemian « Girl" (Balfe), "Melody in F" (Rubin- 1 stein), and "Where My Caravan has Rested" (Lohr). Act 1, Scene 111, from "Othello," was givon exceptionally well by Masters .Joyce, Campion, Seymour, ] Doyle, Cranston, Quin'.ivan, R. O'Dono- I ghuoj Kennedy, Redward, Craighead, j B. Chapman, and Beveridge. THE PRIZE LIST. ] Owing to the war. the boys voluntnr- ' ily offered to forgo their prizes for this : year, consequently the only prizeß given were those which the donors expressly desired should be presented. ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS. The Segrief Scholarship, of the yearly value of £10, tenable for two years, open for competition to boys attending Catholic schools in Wellington or suburbs, has been gained by Benjamin O'Brien, .
