V THE SHARP-SHOOTING AFFAIR. XBj Tel«eroDli-Pr«e« AiepoiaUoHi) Hamilton, December 9,. The case in which William (Captain) M'Leod, a Wild West showman, was charged with causing Leslie Wilson actual _ bodily harm, came before ■ the Hamilton Supreme Court to-day. The case was that in which M'Leod, while practising; sharp-shooting, essayed, with Wilson's permission, to remove the ash from a cigarette which. Wilson was smoking. The bullet entered Wilson's cheek. The jury .found that Wilson moved his head when the shot was fired. Judge Cooper then heard legal argument as to whether the admitted facte constituted an offence under the law, and finally, in reserving decision. His Honour said the case was most interesting, for it was tho first time in tho history of English law tho Supremo Court had been called upon to decide such a_ case. Ho would have to consult with his brother Judges. M'Leod was admitted to bail in:his own recognisance of £50.
