RAILWAYMEN'S DEMANDS IN WARTIME
REFERENCE IN PARLIAMENT. London, December 7. Mr. J. H. Thomas, Labour M.P. for' Derby, speaking in the House of Commons in reference to the railwaymen's demand for increased, wages, denied that the railwaymen would seize ithe oppoitunity to force their programme. Working men Tealisedi and were prepared to share the country's danger. It was recently reported that many branches of' the National Union of Railwaymen had decided, to demand five shillings <,weekly increase, all round, owing. :to the increased- cost of living through the war taxation.
