MOTOR CYCLING CLUB
The ■ Wellington Motor-cycling Club held its opening run of the 1914-15 season to Mason's Gardens at the Lower Hutt on Saturday afternoon. Despite the strong "northerly wind which was blowing, the run to the suburban township was much appreciated. A start was made from tho General Post Office shortly after 2 p.m., 25 motor-cycles, eight sidecars ,and four motor-cars taking part. Afternoon tea was provided o(\ the lawn at the gardens and various competitions were held. Results:—
Smartest turn-out—Mr. C. Laurence's Indian cycle' and side-oar. Cycle-cars—Mr. E. Kahn, 1; Mr. Bradloy's midget car favourably commended. Bottle-dodging— Mr. E. Keene, 1; Mr. E. H. Edmunds, 2. Slow race—Mr. B. H. Edmunds, 1; Mr. K. Gastion, 2. Side-car punting race— •Messrs.- E. H. Edmunds and A. Peterson, 1; Messrs. W. Sutherland and G. Watt, 3. Messrs. C. W. Taner and Daniels acted as judges.
