SATISFACTORY INCREASE

P.O. SAVINGS BANK BUSINESS. Chrfstchuroh, December 7., At his Tai Tapu meeting this evening the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, Post-master-General, made an. announcement regarding Post Office Savings Bank business. Tor last month the deposits were ' £818,569, and tbo withdrawals £683,541, which showed an excess of deposits over withdrawals of £135,028. For the month of November of last year excess of deposits amounted to only £51,618. The former figures wore incomplete, as tho returns from a number of outlying sub-offices had not yet been received, but these would, if~anything, increase the excess of deposits. Taking everything into consideration, Mr. Rhodes thought the result eminently satisfactory.
