MINE-LAYING IN THE ATLANTIC
GERMAN CRUISER AT WORK (Rec. December 6, 10.30 a.m.) London, December 6. • Tile Admiralty states that the Gorman cruiser Berlin, which was reported on November 22 to be making for Iceland, and thence to the south to attack British Transatlantic liners, is almost without coal. Slid has been specially fitted for mine-laying, but so far as is known has no mines aboard, these having been probably sown broadcast in the track of neutral and British Shipping. German floating mines have been constantly sighted, and many are still dangerous.
